Zania Mauricette

Zania joins Right To Play with extensive experience in building and implementing a broad spectrum of people strategies in both the academic and corporate worlds over the last two decades. Zania has led and participated in high-impact initiatives working effectively with diverse internal and external teams and stakeholders. Her work and impact have centered around one goal – to use innovation and best practices to develop or improve systems, structures, processes, and programming, in order to enhance employee experience and productivity and positively impact the organization’s ability to fulfil its mandate.
Zania has over 10 years of experience in various HR management roles within the banking sector both with Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) and First Caribbean International Bank in Barbados. She brings to this role extensive experience developing and enhancing processes, programs, and policies as well as her experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams building organization-wide strategies spanning the entire employee life cycle – from recruitment to redeployment and integrating global strategies across multiple countries.
After developing a robust HR skillset, Zania transitioned to higher education focused on career education and coaching and spent more than 10 years in the sector. She brings her experience managing and developing relationships, with an understanding of cultural, ethnic, and social realities. Zania has a unique ability to connect on a level that focuses on commonalities, while appreciating the value that diversity brings.
In her most recent roles at the Smith School of Business, Queens University, and the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, Zania led Career Education and Advancement Programs including the development of a comprehensive modular curriculum framework based on adult learning principles and designed with blended learning approach of synchronous and asynchronous content delivered online.
Zania is a certified Career Coach recognized through the International Coach Federation and has completed extensive training in Consulting for HR Professionals as well as Change Management Methodology & Project Management through the International Institute for Learning. She also holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto with a major in International Development Studies and a Minor in Sociology.
